Access Statement for Tetford Country Cottages

Introduction

We provide Self Catering and Guest Accommodation with onsite fishing lakes. We endeavor to cater for the needs of all guests. Please feel free to contact us to explain your requirements. Our accommodation is predominantly ground floor only and is inherently suitable for people with restricted mobility. There is wheelchair access to some accommodation and to the fishing lake with fishing platforms.

It is possible to travel all the way to our main entrance by public transport bus from the local towns of Horncastle and Louth.  Help can be given to handle your luggage to your accommodation.

We do not have telephone facilities in our accommodation. Mobile phone coverage in Tetford is available but can sometimes be patchy . There is a public phone box in South Road, Tetford. Our business land line can be used to contact emergency services (999). Our business telephone can be used as a point of contact for emergencies and other serious issues.

 

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

There is a central car park surfaced with compacted stone chippings. This has been done recently so there may be some movement.   Parking spaces are not allocated but spaces closest to the accommodation can be reserved for customers with special access needs as required.

Paved paths lead to the front door of all accommodation. Paths and the car park are lit by external lighting from the buildings from dusk until 12am

 

Accommodation

Accommodation numbered 1 to 6  and are  ground floor only.  No. 1 has wider doorways with openings measuring 81cm wide. All other doorways are 74cm wide and all the external doors open inwards restricting the opening by 4cm. The path to No 1 is gradually sloped to provide access with a lip on step. All other doorways have a small step to and over the threshold. No 1 has a large corner shower with curtain, a fold-down chair and hand rails installed. The step into the tray is only 5cm. There is a hand rail next to the W/C.

Main entrance and Reception

All our accommodation is self contained with individual main entrance doors.  Our reception/office is onsite but is not always manned
 

Tackle store

Situated to the rear of the central car park. Ground floor. A wide entrance doorways with access via concrete ramps. Storage and racks for fishing tackle and rods. Mains power available for recharging of an electric mobility vehicle.

 

Outdoor Facilities
Coarse fishing lake with good access from the car park down a sloping paved path to the fishing platforms. There is also good access to some other fishing pegs over fairly level grass.   There are ample plastic garden chairs available and these can be moved by guests as required.   200 yards away there is a  public playing field suitable for football, cricket, rounders and children’s play area with picnic shelter.
